Oxidative stress

Oxidation is a chemical reaction that can produce free radicals, thus leading to chain reactions that can damage the cells of organisms. Oxidative stress occurs in the body when there are too many free radicals. Oxidative stress is associated with damage to proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids.

Antioxidants, such as ascorbic acid (vitamin C) or vitamin E, can protect against cell damage (oxidative stress) caused by free radicals.

Activities and processes that may lead to oxidative stress include mitochondrial activity, trauma due to inflammation and injuries, consumption of certain foods, especially refined and processed foods, trans fats, artificial sweeteners and certain dyes and additives, smoking, polluted environment, exposure to chemicals, such as pesticides and medicinal products.

Oxidative stress plays a role in the development of many conditions, including cardiovascular disorders, certain types of cancer, alcoholism, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, ulcers, and inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and lupus.

Symptoms of oxidative stress include fatigue, headaches, sensitivity to noise, loss of memory and brain fog, muscle and joint pain, wrinkles, vision problems, and decreased immunity.

Vitamin C is the primary antioxidant in the body and has the role of neutralizing free radicals. One sachet of ProHumano+ ArtroDinamic contains 80 mg of vitamin C, which is 100% of the recommended daily dose.
