Vitamin B1
essential to physical and mental health

Active ingredient

Vitamin B1

Vitamin B1, also known as thiamin, is a water-soluble vitamin, as are all vitamins of the B complex. The human body cannot synthesize thiamine so it relies on exogenous sources.

Vitamin B1 is essential for maintaining physical health and a positive mental attitude being involved in the nervous, muscular and digestive systems processes.

Vitamin B1 also helps by improving cell membrane steadiness in the central and peripheral nervous system and protect the axons.

Deficiency of thiamin leads to wholesale degeneration of the body, particularly the nervous system, with a decrease of energy metabolism in brain cells and a decrease of the myelin sheath diameter. The thiamin deficiency has also been linked to peripheral nervous system disorders in adults and central nervous system disorders in children, but it can also affect skin and lining.

Thiamine deficiency can cause Beriberi disease, that damages the nerves and can lead to apathy, anorexia, confusion, gastritis, irritability, polyneuropathy, weight loss, memory loss, decreased muscle strength, heart failure or vision problems.
